Seasoned Tennis Professional Heads to OakLeaf Plantation

April 16th, 2007 — Anyone enjoying tennis at OakLeaf Plantation will now find a new face among the staff. Formerly the head tennis professional at San Jose Country Club, Reggie Exum has joined the OakLeaf team as director of tennis.

A native of Jackonville, Exum graduated in 1997 with a degree in business management from the University of North Florida, where he was a three-time Tennis All-American. He hails from a family of talented tennis players. While his twin brother is the head tennis professional at Marsh Landing, his sister was the number one 16 and under girl in the U.S. who went on to play the top position on the tennis team at Duke University. Exum currently is a member of the U.S. Professional Tennis Association and the North Florida Professional Tennis Association.

Exum will be teaching ladies clinics and junior clinics for children ages four to 13. He also will teach the men's and ladies' teams, as well as the Bishop John Snyder High School practices and weekly matches, which take place on the OakLeaf tennis courts.

The OakLeaf tennis facilities feature eight clay courts and four hard courts between two multimillion dollar athletic centers. Tennis instruction for all ages and private lessons are available through the center. OakLeaf has an active tennis community and offers its members weekly matches and clinics.

These are the most beautiful courts in town, Exum said. "I absolutely love playing on them."
